We have ministered in Italy with BCM
International (then known as Bible Club Movement,)
since 1963. Our main objective is to assist the
Italian evangelical church in whatever way we
can be helpful.
BCM has various types of ministry in Italy:
evangelism, teaching, discipleship classes,
women’s classes, children’s rallies, conferences,
youth meetings, teacher training, production of
literature for teaching children and youth,
in-depth Bible teaching materials for adults,
camps.
From 1980-2002, we established and developed Camp Maranatha, a ministry of BCM International.
We directed all camps during those years (children’s
camps, adolescent camps, youth camps and family
camps.) In 2002, Michael and Lorna Ralston, our
coworkers in Italy with BCM, were appointed as
the new Directors of the camp.
In December of 2002, we began a small Bible
study for residents near Camp Maranatha. This
ministry continues. Several of the group have
come to know Jesus Christ as their Savior.

and attend the group.
Fran and I were the only BCM missionaries in
Italy for twenty-nine years, from 1963 to 1992.
In 1992, another BCM missionary couple joined us.
Their primary ministry was helping at the camp.
They returned to the U.S. in June, 2003. In 1997
an English couple joined us and remained until
the summer of 2002, when they returned to
Scotland, where they are now retired.
At the present time, only the Ralstons,
Directors of Camp Maranatha, and ourselves are
serving with BCM International in Italy. Many
other workers are needed. The small, independent
Republic of San Marino is only about twelve
miles from Rimini, and has no gospel witness. We
need children and youth workers, who can move
into similar places with the view to eventually
beginning a church. Additional workers are
needed for the camp, teacher training and
literature ministries. We also need a bookkeeper
for our Italian office.
